Hand crocheted earrings / Raang

A miniature portrait of crocheted crystal wire, framed in crystal and colourful luxury yarn.

The colourway 'Raang' is the bengali name for 'colour', which is a universal term in most of the south-east Asian languages. But the translation is much more, it means glorious, frivolous, exuberant, magical colour, and the merino yarn in the piece embodies all these qualities.
Hand dyed by indie dyer Countess Ablaze, who is based in Manchester, UK, the yarn is a festival of colour, with shades of fuchsia, peach, gold, green, orange and capri blue.

The outer oval portrait frame is hand crocheted with the luxury merino yarn and crystal. The centre drop is crocheted with gold and fuchsia entwined enamelled copper, embellished with matching crystals in capri blue, fuchsia and Indian-pink. They are finished with gold filled ear hooks.

The earrings measure 3cm across and 6cm from top of hook to bottom of earring.

How the yarn colours fall within the piece may vary depending on which part of the yarn I start crocheting with, but any variation will be very slight.
I will always try to mirror the earrings so that the colours are as symmetrical and balanced as possible. The crystal colours will be as seen.

These pieces are made with specialist hand-dyed yarn and so this item will be limited.
