Textile & Crystal Bangle - Topkapi

A burst of colour in copper & yarn - this is delicately hand crocheted & hand stitched using a mixed media of double-entwined coloured copper wire, luxury hand-dyed yarn and crystal.

The inspiration for this particular design comes from the colourway of the yarn, called 'Topkapi' after the palace in Istanbul. I visited this place many many years ago, it's a wondrous place full of antiquities and precious items from kings and prophets from long ago.

The luxury yarn used for this design is a merino fingering yarn, hand-dyed by Jess of Olann who is based in Ireland.

This yarn encompasses shades of copper, burnt-orange, brown, and flashes of the majestic blue that is a colour found in many islamic palaces and mosques around the world.

The inner part is hand crocheted with rose-coloured copper wires and embellished with a matching crystal in majestic blue, surrounded by dark bronze glass beads.
The outer part is hand crocheted with hand dyed yarn.

The bangle has a silver-plated base and has a spring opening, making it easy to put on and off your wrist.
The bangle measures 6.5cm/2.5" across it's widest point, and fits up to a 7" wrist.

The wire colour may vary slightly depending on the reel batch, and how the yarn colours fall within the piece may vary depending on which part of the yarn I start crocheting with, but any variation will be very slight. Each bangle will be unique and one-of-a-kind. The crystal and glass beads will be identical to the sample image.

These pieces are made with specialist hand-dyed yarn, which may not always be available, so they are made in small quantities, and would therefore be limited in number.

They are a made-to-order item, so please allow at least 3 weeks for delivery for UK & Europe, and 6 weeks for USA & Worldwide.

This item will be shipped by first class/international.
